Call for Resolutions
to AAFP CoD
Your Chance to Influence Policies and Programs of the AAFP
The Wisconsin Academy of Family Physicians Board of Directors invites members to submit resolutions for consideration to the AAFP Congress of Delegates.
All resolutions must be submitted to the WAFP office in the resolution format no later than July 1.

The Engagement Team has been charged with two equally challenging tasks:
- To engage patients as partners in transforming primary care
practices and the healthcare system at large to enhance the patient
experience, improve community health, and reduce costs.
- To strengthen working alliances with other primary care professions in order to speak with a unified voice for primary care.

Opioid CME Opportunity
SPOTS is offering a new monthly telementoring series about opioid prescribing, starting March 25. Primary care providers from across the state can take advantage of this free opportunity, which will offer free CME credit.

Immunization Insights
With recent news reports of measles outbreaks in schools and child flu
deaths, it could appear as though a large percentage of the population
is forgoing vaccinations. Yet, reports from state and national
organizations reveal vaccination coverage remains high among children.

2019 Adult Immunization
Schedule Published
The immunization schedule for adults was also published in the Annals of Internal Medicine and can be found at: https://bit.ly/2UNCOGC
Printable versions of the 2019 immunization schedules for persons ages 19 and older also are available on the CDC website in several formats, including portrait, landscape, and pocket-sized versions. Catch-Up Vaccine Job-Aids for DTaP, Hib and Pneumococcal Vaccines are available again this year.
If you have questions about the immunization schedule, please call the MDPH Immunization Division at 617-983-6800 and ask to speak to an immunization epidemiologist or nurse.

Addiction Consultation Hotline
The UW Addiction Consultation Hotline offers on-call help to health care
providers seeking support and direction in dealing with their patients'
substance abuse problems. Addiction specialists on the hotline provide
advice for long-term and follow-up care and provide counseling. The
hotline is available weekdays from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. This hotline is
funded in part by a grant from the Wisconsin Department of Health
Services through legislation enacted as part of the HOPE Agenda.
