Poster Presentations

WAFP invites students and residents to participate in the Poster Presentation session at the upcoming Winter Refresher Course.

You can present clinical research, community-based research, or quality improvement. Poster Presentations can be repurposed from a previous presentation. Residents and students must have a faculty mentor as a collaborating co-author. For human subjects’ research, authors must adhere to IRB guidelines for human subjects’ protection.

Poster presentations will be presented on Thursday, March 12 from 5:00-6:00pm as part of the 2026 Winter Refresher Course.

Peer reviewers will rate abstracts on the following criteria:

  • Adequate background and significance
  • Clarity of the project goal / research question
  • Appropriate research/evaluation methods (design, subjects, intervention, measures)
  • Meaningful results linked to problem or question (relevance, magnitude, significance)
  • Conclusions supported by the results / account for limitations
  • Clear and organized writing
  • Significance / Interest for Family Medicine

Poster presentation applications must be submitted no later than January 15, 2026.

Winter Refresher Course Schedule

The AAFP has reviewed 2026 WAFP & MCW Winter Refresher Course, and deemed it acceptable for AAFP credit. Term of approval is from 03/12/2026 to 03/13/2026. Physicians should claim only the credit commensurate with the extent of their participation in the activity.
