Erin Morcomb, MD, FAAFP
WAFP President
Erin Morcomb, MD, is a current faculty physician practicing full-spectrum Family Medicine at the La Crosse Mayo Family Medicine Residency program in La Crosse, Wisconsin, where she previously completed her residency training. She earned her medical degree from the University of Minnesota Medical School in the Twin Cities. Her clinical and professional interests include full-spectrum primary care, preventative medicine, resident education and quality initiatives in medicine. She is especially fond of hospital medicine, obstetrics/women's health and geriatrics. Outside of medicine, she enjoys playing music, reading and spending time with her family.
Eric Stader, MD
Dr. Eric Stader moved to Lancaster in 2003, practicing medicine for four years before opening High Point Family Medicine, LLC in partnership with Dr. Slane in November 2007. Dr. Stader went to medical school at the University of Oklahoma and completed his residency in Family Medicine through the University of Iowa in Mason City, IA. Dr. Stader’s practice of rural family medicine includes teaching, travel medicine, endoscopy, cesarean sections, nursing home care, and office procedures.
Dr. Stader serves as an adjunct faculty member for both medical schools in the state of Wisconsin as well as several Family Medicine residencies and Physician’s Assistant programs in the region. He is passionate about mentoring and training the next generation of physicians. He also volunteers as the Medical Director for the Fennimore EMS and is the Medical Director at Orchard Manor. He has served as the Treasurer, President, and Board Chair of the Wisconsin Academy of Family Physicians; he is currently the alternate delegate from Wisconsin to the American Academy of Family Physicians.
Dr. Stader lives in the country with his wife and family. He serves on the board of 516Now, a grassroots mission organization focused on building holy, prosperous, and sustainable communities, currently working in Latin America. Favorite activities Include family time, short term mission trips, being outdoors, biking, and traveling.
Janice Litza, MD, FAAFP
In addition to board certification in Family Medicine, Dr. Litza has completed additional fellowship training in Integrative Medicine through the University of Arizona in 2017. This allows her to bring a unique perspective to patient care and leadership with attention to the whole person, their body, mind, and spirit. She has been in progressive academic and leadership positions including Residency Program Director in Illinois and Chief Medical Officer for a Federally Qualified Health Center in Milwaukee. She has been providing full spectrum Family Medicine, including obstetrics, newborn care, and hospital medicine until her transition to Ascension in 2014. Within Ascension, in addition to direct patient care, her roles have included clinic physician lead, Medical Director, Vice President Medical Affairs and Regional Chief Medical Officer over 3 hospitals in Southeastern Wisconsin. Dr. Litza returned to academic medicine as Ascension Wisconsin Family Medicine Program Director in April of 2023. She has committed her medical practice and leadership advocacy to serve all patients with special focus on vulnerable populations. Dr. Litza is proud of her Puerto Rican heritage and currently serves on 3 community boards and was recognized as a BIPOC Executive Leader in 2023 in Milwaukee and achieved Changemaker status through American Heart Association National Woman of Impact 2023.
Thomas Joles, MD
Thomas Joles, MD is a Family Physician in Chippewa Falls, WI. He was born and raised in Chippewa Falls and is a US Army Veteran. Dr. Joles practices outpatient primary care has a special interest in men’s health and weight loss. In his free time, he enjoys spending time with his wife and 4 children.
Megan Butler, MD
Megan Butler, MD is a board certified Family Physician and is employed by Prevea Health in Plymouth, Wisconsin. Her philosophy of patient care is grounded in mutual honesty and respect, providing compassionate, individualized care while empowering patients to take an active role in their health journey. She strives to connect deeply with each patient, ensuring they feel supported.
William Michael, MD
Dr. William “Billy” Michael has a medical degree from the University of Illinois College of Medicine in Chicago, IL and he completed residency at Puget Sound Family Medicine Residency program in Washington state, part of the University of Washington’s WAMI network. Prior to pursuing a career in medicine, Dr. Michael enlisted in the United States Marine Corps from 2001-2007 and this experience motivated him to pursue a navy commission through the Health Professions Scholarship Program (HPSP). After residency, Billy served as a US Navy physician practicing full scope family medicine at Naval Hospital Twentynine Palms, near Joshua Tree National Park. Upon the completion of his commitment to the US Navy, Billy and his family decided to move back to the Midwest and beautiful Madison, WI. Billy’s academic interests include, among others, mental health prescribing and treatment in primary care and exploring relationships between specialists and primary care physicians, especially in a rural practice setting. Outside of medicine, Billy enjoys playing sports (especially ice hockey), reading nonfiction and science fiction books, exploring national parks, playing board games and spending time with his family – spouse, Jessika, two daughters, Madeline and Josephine and son, Liam.
Thomas Hahn, MD
Thomas Hahn, MD (he/him/his) grew up in rural Wisconsin and received his undergraduate degree from the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire. He is from a family of educators so has always had an interest in educating patients about their health as well as teaching learners.
Hahn attended medical school at the University of Wisconsin School of Medicine Public Health and completed residency and an academic fellowship at the UW Department of Family Medicine and Community Health. Hahn is faculty at the Verona Clinic where he provides full-scope care to families.
He has been involved in medical student education and residency education in various roles and currently serves as the residency program director. His teaching and academic interests include evidence-based medicine, oral health, leadership and mentorship, health equity, and medical learner support and coaching.
Julia Yates, LCSW
Julia Yates, LCSW completed her Master of Science and Clinical Social work degree with an emphasis in structural family therapy in 2003 from the University of Wisconsin- Madison. She completed her post graduate clinical externship on an Adult Inpatient Psychiatric unit which included extensive Emergency room training along with individual and group therapy. Julia’s professional interests include: women’s health, working with adolescent populations, grief counseling, couples counseling, motivational interviewing, holistic approaches to healing, and diagnosis and treatment of mood disorders. Julia was introduced to the Department of Family Medicine while working with the Wisconsin Initiatives to Promote Healthy Lifestyles, which also afforded her the opportunity to strengthen her motivational interviewing skills.
She joined the UW Health Verona team in March of 2008 and became full time after closing her private practice in Janesville in February 2011. Julia provides psychotherapy and brief consultation services to a wide age range at the Verona clinic, and she draws from multiple therapeutic, holistic approaches including cognitive behavioral therapy, solution focused therapy, and acceptance /commitment therapy. She also thoroughly enjoys working with residents through direct teaching, observation, and shadowing opportunities.
