Dear Milwaukee Clinicians,
On 5/15/23 the United States Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) warned that Mpox (formerly known as monkeypox) may return soon. https://emergency.cdc.gov/han/2023/han00490.asp
On 5/18/23 CDC experts reviewed recommendations for mpox testing, vaccination, treatment, and prevention. With new mpox cases occurring in some people who are vaccinated, it is important that clinicians quickly identify cases to limit a possible mpox resurgence this summer in the United States.
