Each spring the American Academy of Family Physicians hosts the National Conference of Constituency Leaders (NCCL). NCCL is the AAFP’s forum to address member issues specific to women, minorities, new physicians, international medical graduates, and LGBT physicians and allies. Through this forum, members of these underrepresented constituencies are able to voice their concerns. NCCL participants help shape AAFP policies and positions, build leadership skills, elect national officers, and meet with others who share common interests.
This year’s conference is being held April 25-27 in Kansas City. Each year the WAFP sends one delegate for each of the five special constituencies.
|Delegate Constituency||Requirements (if any)|
|New Physician||In the first seven years of practice following residency|
|International Medical Graduate (IMG)||Graduate from a medical school outside US, Canada, or Puerto Rico|
|Lesbian, gay, bisexual, or transgender (LGBT)||LGBT physicians or physician allies|
Are you interested in serving as a delegate for one of the constituencies? Let us know by sending a statement of interest along with your current CV to Brandon at the WAFP office.
Delegates must be in the Active membership category and must be members in good standing. The WAFP will provide registration and travel expense reimbursement for our delegates
Nomination deadline is March 1, 2019.
