The Legislative Involvement Fund

What is the Legislative Involvement Fund?

  • The Legislative involvement Fund is a conduit, which exists to help support political candidates of the donor’s choice. The candidate gets a bigger check with the words “FAMILY PHYSICIANS” and a list of donors including you on it.

Why is it Important?

  • The Legislative Involvement Fund is designed to maximize the impact of our efforts to support candidates who support Academy positions.

How it Works:

  • Participating physicians place money in the Legislative Involvement fund. The fund, in turn makes contributions to candidates for state office – as authorized by each donor.
  • Donations from several donors to a particular candidate are pooled in a single check from the Legislative Involvement Fund, with a letter listing each individual donor. The Fund files required reports of these contributions with the State Elections Board.
