The Legislative involvement Fund is a conduit, which exists to help support political candidates of the donor’s choice. The candidate gets a bigger check with the words “FAMILY PHYSICIANS” and a list of donors including you on it.
Why is it Important?
The Legislative Involvement Fund is designed to maximize the impact of our efforts to support candidates who support Academy positions.
How it Works:
Participating physicians place money in the Legislative Involvement fund. The fund, in turn makes contributions to candidates for state office – as authorized by each donor.
Donations from several donors to a particular candidate are pooled in a single check from the Legislative Involvement Fund, with a letter listing each individual donor. The Fund files required reports of these contributions with the State Elections Board.
